Eltham Orchestrra is in need of Violas, Brass and Percussion/Timpany players for its upcoming concert season. Rehearsals begin on Wednesday 5th February at Briar Hill Primary School. Thimes are as follows: Beginner Strings Grades 1 – 4 6.00 p.m. – 7.00 p.m. Extenstion Strings Grades 4 and above 7.00 p.m. – 7.30 p.m. Orchestra Strings tutorial Grades 7 and above 7.30 – 8.00 p.m. Full Orchestra 8.00 p.m. – 9.00 p.m. Woodwind Brass and Percussion Tutorial 9.15 – 10.00 p.m.

Essendon Symphony

The Essendon Symphony is a community orchestra based in Melbourne’s Moonee Valley that rehearses every Tuesday night from 7.15 – 9.45. We perform a variety of concerts throughout the year and have an excellent reputation both for our kids concerts, and our formal classical repertoire. Concerts are usually held in the Clocktower Centre. We have a wide age range and ability range of players and thoroughly enjoy rehearsals as well as cake during the break (when we can get it).

West Melbourne Schools Orchestra

Founded in 2016, we aim to provide young musicians in West Melbourne a place to play good music and socialise with other like-minded students. We rehearse on Thursday night 6.30 – 8.30 at Footscray City College and welcome musicians aged 11 – 17 who live and/or attend school in the western suburbs of Melbourne. The ensemble is currently made up of students from 12 of the regions schools. Originally funded from a grant from the Rosemary and John Hopkins Award for Conductors, the ensemble is conducted by Jenny Going with regular visits from our patron Benjamin Northey.
