10oct10:00 AM5:00 PMCLASSICAL IMPROVISATION WORKSHOP

Event Details

Open to all musicians, teachers and students who want to start improvisation or accelerate their improvisation progress further, this is a highly practical course for all classical musicians. You will learn a simple systematic approach, which integrates both intuitive and structural approaches, and allows you to apply it in your music making immediately to improvise freely, in classical or any other style you want.

Using all the playing skills which you already have, you will learn just a few simple extra insights that allow all that experience to be available for you to use in improvisation. This course allows you to express and articulate your creative self through improvisation, have your own really solid original classical repertoire on the concert platform, and adds energy and insight to your musicianship.

Rupert Guenther trained as a concert violinist in Vienna, worked as a soloist and chamber musician and held principle positions in many orchestras. Since 2003 he has exclusively performed and taught classical improvisation using his revolutionary new method. He teaches masterclasses at universities in Australia & Europe including Vienna University and the Guildhall School of Music (London), and is Director of the annual International Mastercourse for Improvisation in St Paul, Austria.
