You may have heard of the recent Young Performers Awards, won by violinist Emily Sun.
Well the Australian Strings Association is offering you the chance to try out being a “Young Performer” for one afternoon. It won’t be a competition, but there will be adjudicators who will complete a written report for each performer, and you will also receive a Certificate of Participation.
When: September 9th between 2-5pm (three 45-minute sessions – 2pm, 3pm and 4pm)
Where: Walford School Music Department, 316 Unley Road, Hyde Park. See also map below.
Who can enter: open to any player of any standard.
Cost: $15 for students of AUSTA members and $30 for non-members, for a piece or pieces up to a 5 minute slot* The fee includes an accompanist on the day, free entry for your audience, and a written report and certificate of participation at the end of the session.

Won Jung Lee will be the accompanist for all performers. We recommend you arrange a rehearsal with her before the performance day. Please contact her via email: firstname.lastname@example.org. The piano part will need to be scanned and emailed to her. You will need to pay for this rehearsal as it is not covered by the entrance fee.
*Advanced students with a longer piece will need to book more than one slot.

Parking is available off Woodlyn Place and Unley and Commercial Rds. Enter by foot between the Boarding House and the Café/Music building. The Music Suite is on the 1st floor. There are external steps at either end of the building.
