Andrea has a private teaching practice that attracts interest from professional teachers, students and performers. Her studio is known for its focus on technique with effective body use (in relation to the Alexander Technique and Feldenkrais Method), performance anxiety strategies, efficient and creative practice skills through the use of improvisation, composition and a range of musical genres.

I have a large private studio, Teaching violin mostly but also teach cello and viola with links to teachers in Hobart to make a smooth transition to advanced studies for students on these two instruments. I am conductor of a community orchestra with 3 orchestras and director of a string camp held in January each year which has around 150 students spread over 4 orchestras.

I enjoy teaching young people to play to a high standard through music that speaks to them. I am happy to provide fun goals for those wishing to play for leisure, but encourage my students to sit for AMEB exams when possible, and study music theory concurrently with their performance.
