I enjoy teaching young people to play to a high standard through music that speaks to them. I am happy to provide fun goals for those wishing to play for leisure, but encourage my students to sit for AMEB exams when possible, and study music theory concurrently with their performance.
I am a qualified performer and have been teaching for over 15years. I have a Bachelor and Masters in music performance (cello) from UQ, have studied at the Australian National Academy in Melbourne, and also have AMusA and LMusA qualifications on piano (which I also teach), and so regularly accompany my students in their lessons. I perform as a seasonal cellist with orchestras around Brisbane and particularly enjoy chamber music.
