Loreta Fin studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and has since performed regularly in chamber music and orchestral concerts. She has been the Principal Viola player with the Qld Pops Orchestra for over 25 years. Loreta also held the position of Director of Strings and Instrumental Music at Somerville House School in Brisbane from 1992 to 2021.

Loreta has presented at many Australian National Music Conferences, as well as two ASTA Conferences and has adjudicated at major competitions around Australia. She was a committee member of AUSTA for over 25 years, serving as both State and National President during that time. She received a Qld State Award in 2009. Loreta is a Federal Examiner with the Australian Music Examinations Board and is currently the State Advisor for Strings. She has also served on the Education Advisory Committees for Austa and the Queensland Symphony Orchestra. Loreta has conducted orchestras in the State and Australian Honours Ensembles Program in Brisbane. She has composed over 100 works for String Orchestra and more recently, a Beginner String Series. Loreta was honoured to receive the National Award for Services to Music and String Teaching in Australia at the 2015 AUSTA National Conference.
