9.00-10.30 | Welcome & Presentation: Practising with Intent / The Musician as a Storyteller with Rachael Beesley Learning outcomes: Build your confidence, curiosity and freedom to explore practising in an improvisatory manner with intent. Explore new and exciting approaches to repertoire and technique, increase your sense of well-being and find keys to experiencing the FLOW state. In exploring these concepts, we also get closer to the cognitive psychology of today. By trying out postures and movements ourselves, we learn to feel what a gesture can cause in our own body. In the process we also learn to decipher the acting styles and paintings of the past. All of these disciplines follow the same rhetorical logic: art must convince viewers and audiences by causing a physical reaction and thus touching their hearts. That is, after all, the intention of music. |
10.30-11.00 | Break |
11.00-12.30 | Demonstrations: Historical String Instruments (+Clarinet) Learning outcomes: Deepen your awareness of new and interesting HIP approaches to repertoire, string instruments and expressive techniques. |
