AUSTA Queensland provides a vibrant calendar of professional development and performance opportunities for string teachers, students, and performers across Brisbane and regional Queensland. Events include the popular Reading Day & AGM, the Mini-Conference with expert presenters, the Concerto Championship, the Strings Festival, and the Professional Weekend, offering workshops, masterclasses, and career development sessions for musicians at all levels.
AUSTA Q events foster networking, skill development, and community engagement, bringing together teachers, students, and professionals to explore the latest in string pedagogy and performance. Members are encouraged to bring their instruments and participate in these hands-on, inspiring events, while regional activities ensure access and involvement across Queensland. Registration is essential for all events.

AUSTA Q’s hugely popular Reading Day in on again this February. We look forward to welcoming all AUSTA members and colleagues to this event, and is not to be missed by any ensemble directors. While the reading day will have a local focus a few of the best shortlisted pieces from the International reading day will be included. The short AGM will follow the reading day at 12pm. Then we invite you all to catch up with colleagues and friends over lunch kindly supplied by Music Fest.

This years event promises to be packed full of interesting and pertinent sessions. Presenters this year to include Dr Anthony Young, David Peirce Physiotherapist, Loreta Fin AM, Raquel Bastos, Delegates Orchestra conducted by Warwick Adeney. This year a special session will be included for the presentation of a gift to AUSTA members in celebration of 50 Years of AUSTA.

A selection of AUSTA Q’s most experienced ensembles directors will guide you through a selection of the latest works the overseas publishers. This is a great opportunity to finalise budgets, order new music for the beginning of 2026 or just top up your PD hours.
As with past International Reading Day’s, this event will be run online so watch your email for the zoom link.
