No matter whether your child is a beginner or more advanced (and some will have just learnt to play open strings!) AUSTA Q String Festival offers them the opportunity to perform a solo accompanied by a professional accompanist in front of a small, supportive audience of family, friends and peers. They will receive a constructive, encouraging adjudication report from one of AUSTA’s many teachers.

The ‘AUSTA NQ Celebration of Strings’ Festival is an annual workshop which brings together hundreds of the string players from primary schools in the Townsville region for a great concert celebrating the fun of string playing. For to students up to year 8, in five massive orchestras, our concert promises to be a hit, especially for an auditorium full of adoring family and friends.
Come and enjoy the fun and festivity as these keen string players strut their stuff on the big stage.

Whether you are a highly experienced teacher, early career teacher, tertiary student, or high school student interested in a career in music, the AUSTA Q Professional Weekend 2025 will provide a variety of sessions to extend your skills and perspective as players and teachers. No string teacher or student aspiring to a career in music can afford to miss this invaluable event!

A selection of AUSTA Q’s most experienced ensembles directors will guide you through a selection of the latest works the overseas publishers. This is a great opportunity to finalise budgets, order new music for the beginning of 2026 or just top up your PD hours.
As with past International Reading Day’s, this event will be run online so watch your email for the zoom link.
