I am extremely passionate about music, and think it is one of the most beautiful things to be involved in; whether you are a listener or performer. I am very enthusiastic about spreading this love of creating music to everyone I teach, and have had much experience teaching both in schools and privately, as well as performing in large orchestras, smaller chamber groups, string quartets, musicals and solo performances. Sophie Curtis is a dedicated and innovative music educator committed to sharing the benefits of music-making. Trained as a classical cellist in Perth, Sophie possesses extensive experience as a performing artist, having served as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestral section leader, and recording artist. Sophie founded the WA Young Artists Chamber Music Program (WAYACHAMP) in 2011.
