Steps to Successful Orchestras: Organizing, Rehearsing, Performing

Join Jeremy Woolstenhulme on Friday 1 July for our pre-conference activity. Enjoy discussions about successful orchestra programs – from initial setup to terrific success – the tips and tricks for a successful program. Hear what you can do to improve your effectiveness and the efficiency of your orchestral teaching. This activity will suit a wide variety of string players, especially those involved with orchestral programs at their school.

This workshop is dedicated to an interactive, hand-on experience so that participants can share in tackling a variety of string-specific concepts. Mr. Woolstenhulme will touch on an array of techniques to help young players develop good intonation, beautiful tone, and strong ensemble precision & balance. Some techniques may require an in-depth look at the basics of good posture, instrument/bow position, bowing styles, and more. Selecting appropriate literature will also be a significant topic, and performance literature for beginning ensembles will be introduced and played.

This complimentary activity is available to anyone attending the conference and is proudly sponsored by our Principal Sponsor AMEB.
