PERIPATETIC MUSICAL TUTOR

PERTH COLLEGE MT LAWLEY

The Perth College music programme provides excellent specialist music education by providing an outstanding classroom and peripatetic musical tutoring programme inspiring a high standard of performance through co-curricular musical activities.

We seek an outstanding and talented musician to take on a full-time leading role in running the Perth College String Programme.  The successful candidate will encourage and teach a love of string playing in students from Year 2 to Year 12.  Duties include selecting of repertoire for the school’s six orchestras (including the PC/Aquinas String Orchestra), conducting and mentoring chamber ensembles and individuals, preparation for concerts, auditions for scholarships and bursaries and co-ordinating musicians for School events, camps, tours (both national and international) etc.  The ability to manage the administration and maintenance of our string instruments and the chamber music programme would be highly desirable.

The successful applicant needs to have proven knowledge of tutoring multiple string instruments as well as experience in conducting ensembles. The ability to teach upper strings is preferable and the capability to play piano would be considered advantageous.

This full-time position commences in Term 4 2017.
