Stephanie Brown is an award-winning international music teacher and the Founder and Director of Bella Quattro Strings. Stephanie is passionate about teaching and combines this passion with knowledge gained from 6 years tertiary study and over 28 years experience working in the field of Music Education.
Stephanie holds a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education from Macquarie University (NSW, Australia) and an Associate Diploma in Music Teaching with a Major in Violin Pedagogy from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music (NSW, Australia).
Stephanie has 15 years international teaching experience working in Carmel, California where she owned and operated a music school between 2005 – 2020, offering individual violin instruction & early childhood music classes through the internationally acclaimed Music Together® program.
During her time in California, Stephanie taught many students violin from early childhood through until the end of their schooling.
Stephanie has also been a private violin tutor at the exclusive Stevenson School, located in Pebble Beach, California.
Stephanie’s teaching experience in Australia spans 13 years working at one of Sydney’s most prestigious private co-educational grammar schools (S.C.E.C.G.S Redlands). She was a music scholar at Redlands and was invited back shortly after graduating as the Preparatory Music Specialist (K-1) and also as a violin tutor offering individual instruction.
During her time at Redlands, Stephanie prepared violin students for violin examinations through Trinity College London and the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM).
Stephanie studied violin from 4 1/2 years old to 15 years old under the tutelage of John Speer who taught the Suzuki Method of instruction. During Stephanie’s final 3 years of high school and throughout university, she studied the traditional method of violin instruction with Phillipa Paige, former member of Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Phillipa is a master of violin pedagogy and is currently writing the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) syllabus for 2022.
Stephanie relocated to Freshwater, NSW from Carmel, California in August of 2020. She has successfully taught students remotely via the Zoom video platform, and maintained her studio of 28 students who reside in the US.
Stephanie currently teaches violin at John Colet School ranked 3rd in the state for students academically.
Stephanie also offers individual violin instruction to both children and adults from absolute beginners through to advanced students in Freshwater.
Stephanie is a member of the Australian Strings Association (AUSTA) & Music Teachers’ Association of NSW (MMTA).
She is also accredited as a violin instructor through the Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC).
Stephanie’s first album endeavor titled, “Californian Journey” was released globally on June 3, 2011. The album is a collection of soothing Classical music, American fiddle favorites and an Australian classic.
