Double_bass Teacher, Glendalough Robin Brawley

Robin Brawley is a double bassist with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music. He completed his undergraduate studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with Alex Henery and Maxime Bibeau before undertaking postgraduate study in the United States with renowned bassists and pedagogues Hal Robinson and Edgar Meyer.
Robin has performed professionally with Australia’s major symphony orchestras, previously holding a tenured position with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and appearing as Guest Principal Double Bass with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. As a chamber musician, he has toured internationally with Curtis On Tour and performed in WASO’s chamber music series.
Alongside his performing career, Robin is deeply committed to music education. He teaches students across secondary, tertiary, and pre-professional levels, with experience in private tuition, relief teaching through Instrumental Music School Services, and masterclasses for the University of Western Australia. His teaching focuses on technical development, orchestral repertoire, audition preparation, and building confident, sustainable musicianship tailored to each student’s goals.
