Cello Teacher, highgate Anna Piland

Anna Piland is an accomplished cellist and music educator with over 15 years of experience in instrumental teaching, ensemble direction and school-based music programs in Australia and the United States. A graduate of the Elder Conservatorium of Music, Anna currently serves as Head of Strings at Scotch College and is President of the South Australian chapter of the Australian String Teachers Association (AUSTA SA). Her Adelaide teaching experience includes Pembroke School, where she led the Year 2 String Immersion program and developed a large cello studio, and Saint Ignatius’ College, where she served as Lead Practitioner of String Ensembles and Cello. Passionate about creating meaningful and accessible musical experiences for young people, Anna’s teaching is grounded in collaboration, community and the belief that every student should have the opportunity to experience the transformative power of music.
Anna currently holds a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) and Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect (RRHAN-EC) training, and is committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive and child-centred environment for all students.
