Norwood Symphony

The Norwood Symphony Orchestra (NSO) is South Australia’s oldest continuously running community orchestra, tracing its origins to 1923 when Norman Sellick formed a small student ensemble. Over the decades, the orchestra evolved through various names and locations, ultimately becoming the Norwood Symphony Orchestra in 1998.

NSO has a rich history of performances, including local community events, milestone celebrations, and outreach programs such as Symphony in the Park and Big Sing. It has consistently presented concerts at the Norwood Concert Hall and continues to engage the community through music education and cultural enrichment. The orchestra is entirely volunteer-run and remains committed to fostering musical excellence for both performers and audiences.
