Bendigo Symphony Orchestra

The Bendigo Symphony Orchestra (BSO) was founded in 1981 through the Victorian Government’s Music 81 Project and is the successor to the Bendigo Concert Orchestra. Celebrating 40 years in 2021, BSO is Bendigo’s premier orchestral organisation, providing high-quality symphonic music for the region and performance opportunities for talented musicians. The orchestra presents major symphonic repertoire and concertos by leading Australian and international artists, has supported the development of young musicians into professional careers, and collaborates with distinguished guest conductors and soloists. Now led by Artistic Director Luke Severn, BSO plays a central role in the cultural life of the City of Greater Bendigo, with the Mayor serving as Patron.
