AUSTRALIAN CHILDREN’S ORCHESTRA
AUSTRALIAN CHILDREN’S ORCHESTRA & CHORUS
Westall Community Hub – 35 Fairbank Rd Clayton South.
- Our Orchestra & Chorus Training Program is designed for students who have demonstrated a high level of commitment to developing their musical skills. Suitable for students aged 7–18, the program supports young musicians who are eager to embrace new musical opportunities, ensemble training, and performance challenges in a professional orchestra environment.
- Students focus on developing higher-level instrumental techniques, accurate part-playing, ensemble awareness, and a deeper understanding of musical concepts. Training also includes singing as a chorus to strengthen aural skills, rhythm, and musical confidence, while learning how to work effectively as part of a team.
- Students regularly perform in concerts and music competitions, with opportunities to earn awards and recognition as part of their musical journey.
Orchestra Concert Performances
Playing in live orchestra concerts provides ongoing motivation for students to practise and improve through structured weekly orchestra rehearsals.
Concert performances help students:
- Develop essential teamwork and ensemble skills
- Build confidence performing on stage
- Strengthen listening, timing, and musical communication
- Gain real-world performance experience
Concerts are a vital part of overall music education and performance development and create meaningful opportunities for families to be involved, both as performers and audience members, strengthening the local music community.
