Advanced, Audition, Beginner, Cello, Piano, Preparation, Theory, Viola, Violin Teacher, Cheltenham MASTERS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF MUSIC

Jack Harris began his career in music very early in life playing in various bands (brass, military, concert, stage and Jazz). He also played violin in various orchestras both here and overseas.
After a short stint in the Army Band (Melbourne) on clarinet as a young adult, he sought to focus on teaching. This avenue took him all over the world, Europe mostly, but also to the US, Canada, the UK, and Japan. He holds a PhD DMus and EdD.
Since his retirement he has taken on the role of Music Director for the Australian Children’s Orchestra and acts as the Music Registrar for the Masters International Music Examinations Board. He enjoys sharing his vast knowledge and experience with all kinds of music students no matter what their age.
He is available for private lessons on Violin and Piano. Over the last decade, many of his students have won scholarships to private colleges and universities as well as to specialist music schools.
Some of the highlights of Jack’s career included taking conducting lessons with Herbert Von Karajan, meeting Yehudi Menuhin, and learning all about rehearsing techniques from Leonard Bernstein, and his favourite, Nikolaus Harnoncourt.
