This study explores the familial factors that influence parent engagement in stringed instrument learning.

The study aims to:

Define parental and teacher music efficacy;
Identify the role that parental and teacher music efficacy plays in student learning;
Identify parental perceptions of their role in their child’s learning;
Provide a greater understanding of the factors that facilitate or inhibit parental engagement.
